5 Ways to Pray for Unbelievers

I recently shared with you how I was involved in some prayer ministry in the past and how it really touched my life.

Prayer is so important in a Christians life. It is being able to speak right into the ears of God and knowing that He hears us crystal clear. What an amazing truth that is! Don't ever believe the lie that He doesn't hear you.

I was recently reading about the power of prayer in the following people's lives:

HUDSON TAYLOR

He started 125 schools and led thousands to Christ in China. His children later wrote a book on him saying that the "For forty years the  sun never rose on China a single day that God didn't find him on his knees." Wow, what a testimony!

GEORGE MULLER

He took care of more than 10,000 orphans in his lifetime (he helped to lead an orphanage) and never asked anyone for money. He prayed and asked God to provide and he did. When he died they had found that he had recorded over 50,000 detailed accounts of answers to prayer in his journal. I would love to take a peek at that!

CHARLES SPURGEON

Thousands gathered each week to hear the "Prince of Preachers" speak but when visitors came he would walk them to the basement prayer room where people were on their knees praying and declare, "Here is the powerhouse of this church." Yes, indeed, and that reminds me of when we would behind the curtains while our pastor was preaching--what an awesome memory that I will never forget.

JOHN WESLEY & JONATHAN EDWARDS

These two helped to usher in The Great Awakenings that changed the culture of America in the 1700's, their strategy included preaching and calling believers together in prayer.

THE APOSTLE PAUL

When he wrote Ephesians instructing us to "pray at all times" he was a prisoner in chains. He thought of himself as free since he was a man of faith and prayer.

And we cannot forget King David who prayed morning, noon, and night.

Last week I shared a free printable calendar for the month of January (but can be used any month).

Yesterday the theme was praying for the lost. So I wanted to share five ways you can pray for the lost right now.

FIVE WAYS TO PRAY FOR UNBELIEVERS

1. That they would connect with believers and hear and believe the Gospel.

2. That they would turn from evil and be drawn to Christ.

3. That they would be convicted of their sin and repent.

4. That they would obey the Bible, be baptized, and get plugged into a healthy Bible-believing church.

5. That they would grow in Christ and live according to His will.

Let's pray together for them together and often!

Right now I am going through this book, The Battle Plan for Prayer: From Basic Training to Targeted Strategies. I would love it if you joined reading it along with me:

It is a good time to get it because it is on sale for a limited time right now.

The Battle Plan for Prayer begins with prayer’s core purpose, its biblical design, and its impact throughout history. Readers will be guided scripturally through the fundamentals of how effective prayer works, inspired towards a closer, more intimate relationship with God, and shown how to develop specific prayer strategies for each area of life.

Prayer can accomplish what a willing God can accomplish. It should be your first plan of attack in all of life’s battles, not your last resort. If you want to experience the joy of mightily answered prayer, then it’s time to engage with God at another level.

You can find this book HERE.
